We had local bands on Saturday nights when I worked at Julies....couple of amazing nights that come to mind: Alameda All Stars, who were always my least favorite, until one night when GREG ALLMAN came in to join them (oh my god!). I've never seen John Caine actually speechless before. During a break, I asked John to play Gypies Tramps and Theives for me, knowing Greg was married to Cher for like 45 days. John didn't know...when he found out, he was so embarrassed and sent over 25 cosmos to Greg. Another night-- Tommy Castro. I danced on the round table for him (with David's friend Paul). After the song, Tommy said kind of breathlessly, "God, I love you..."
